Nicole Miller Resort 2010
(Pictures from style.com)

I stumbled upon another great collection today while continuing to browse the Resort 2010 collections. Another set of completely wearable pieces I could see people walking around a crowded city street with. Though Fashion is absolutely an art some collections/designs are so far from the scape of reality that it's hard to appreciate them as clothes, they're more of a walking art piece. I'm always delighted to find clothes that are new and fresh but also something that people could actually wear. Resort 2010 has been chalked full of such and that has made me very happy.

  1. I love it! And you are so right, some pieces are just walking art masterpieces that are impossible to wear in real practical life.

  2. I definitely agree that fashion is an art and this is coming from an Art History grad! Love that shirt on the model, it's such a great shape.

  3. Haha I like the way you put it! I also find most runway fashion are not meant to be worn as clothes but as sculpted art pieces, but I remember someone (either my art history teacher or a fashion blogger) once said that these designers had a reason for creating such pieces in addition to clothes that people can actually wear... something about maintaining high culture? You'll have to forgive me for the short-term memory ^^;

  4. I like the more conceptual things, ie the things that 'real' people wouldn't wear unless they are very brave and don't care about people staring.
